The Ministry of transport and Infrastructure said in a statement: “As a result of the evaluations, it is decided to extend ban on balloon flights in Cappadocia until October 1, due to the lack of reservations at hotels in balloon flight zones originating from insufficient rate of International Airlines flights and physical structure of the balloons and also difficulty to maintain social distance and the risk of increasing the spread of the epidemic”.

As is known, due to the covid-19 pandemic in Wuhan, People’s Republic of China, all commercial balloon flight activities had been stopped by Ministry of transport & Infrastructure until 30 April 2020.

The Ministry has now decided to continue the measures taken to stop commercial balloon flights considering the current state of the outbreak and the said period was extended until 01.10.2020.
