Thermal cameras have been installed at Marmaray stations against the coronavirus outbreak, which has also affected Turkey badly. The temperature of passengers using the Marmaray is measured so that citizens can make a safer journey.

As part of the fight against the Corona virus, thermal cameras have been installed at Marmaray stations, which are observed to be crowded by the Ministry of Transport and infrastructure. Thermal cameras at the entrance measure the temperature of the passengers to use the Marmara.

The security guards, who follow the footage from the camera on the screen, do not allow citizens with temperature above a certain degree to travel.

Citizens are reported to be happy with the thermal cameras placed in the entrances. A citizen commented: “I got on the subway card. Before that I noticed the camera. And I was personally pleased with the nice application. People are very tense having to use public transport. And we’re travelling at a very close distance to each other. In that sense, I’m very pleased to see this system is installed to measure temperature of travelers”
