Number of foreign tourists arriving by air to Antalya exceeds 10 million

Antalya hosted more than 10 million foreign tourists who arrived by air in 8,5 months. Stating that there were no arrivals by land in this figure Governor Ersin YAZICI said, “We estimate that we will reach a figure of 12-13 million by the end of the year.”

Mobility is continuing in Antalya. While the peak season in tourism is experienced after the global epidemic, Antalya has hosted more than 8,5 million foreign tourists who came by air in the first 10 months of the year.

Antalya Governor Ersin YAZICI announced that the number of foreign tourists arriving in the city by air between January 1 – September 15, was 10 million 60 thousand 739. YAZICI said that 6 million 151 thousand 948 foreign tourists had been hosted in the same period last year and that there had been an increase of 64 percent this year compared to last year.

YAZICI also shared that Germany, Russia and the UK had ranked top of the list among countries who sent highest number of tourists to Turkey

Expressing that the figures made them and the tourism sector happy, he said “These figures do not include the number of foreigners arriving by air, those arriving by land. We estimate that we will reach a figure of 12-13 million at the end of the year. Dec.” said.

Stating that this success was a 2-year story, YAZICI reminded that Antalya offered healthy and safe tourism services with the Safe Tourism Certificate Program when tourism stopped in the world during the epidemic period.
