TOURISTS COMING TO TURKEY

The number of tourists coming to Antalya by air in the last 4 months has increased by 162 percent compared to the same period last year. 1 million 112 thousand 383 tourists visited the city between January 1st and April 30th. Due to the war, the number of Russian and Ukrainian tourists decreased substantially, while the number of German and British tourists visiting the city increased.

The 2022 tourism data for Antalya, one of the most important holiday routes of the Mediterranean, has been announced. A substantial increase was observed in 2022 compared to the January 1 – April 30 period of last year.

INCREASE COMPARED TO 2021

Despite the Russia-Ukraine war, the number of tourists arriving by air in the city increased by 162 percent to 1 million 112 thousand 383 in the period between January 1 and April 30.

The number of tourists who came to the city in the same period last year was recorded as 423 thousand 773. The increase this year was 286 percent compared to April 2021.

GERMAN AND BRITISH TOURISTS ARE IN THE TOP TWO

The number of tourists visiting the city by air in the first 4-month period of 2022 has greatly exceeded the year 2020 and 2021.

THE NUMBER OF RUSSIAN TOURISTS HAS DECREASED

According to the data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of Russian tourists arriving in Turkey in March 2022 decreased by 47.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

During January 1 and April 30, the highest number of tourists came from Germany reaching 329,000, followed by Great Britain with 151,000 tourists. 143, 500 tourist came from Russia in the same period.
