Prominent journalist: Has Erdogan returned leadership flag of Islamic world to Saudis again?

“While President Erdogan’s trip to Saudi Arabia caused a lot of controversy inside, the Saudi media did not comment on the incident beyond providing it in the form of regular news and did not use a sentence that the King had invited Erdogan.

The media of other Arab countries, including Qatar, took a similar stance, while millions of social media accounts accused Erdogan of “closing the Khashoggi file and cutting off his support for the Islamists.”

HUSNU MAHALLI, a prominent journalist who is an expert in Middle East politics used above expressions when sharing his evaluation about President Erdogan’s visit to Saudi Arabia. The journalist went on to say; “The visit to Saudi Arabia may be the first sign that this leadership is coming to an end. With this visit and the developments I have tried to summarize above, it seems that Erdogan has returned the leadership flag of the Islamic world to the Saudis again.”

ERDOGAN EXPECTED TO VISIT EGYPT AND ISRAEL AS WELL

MAHALLI also added following: “Everything will be much clearer with the trip to Egypt (preceded by Israel), which is expected to take place soon.”
On the other hand, Turkey has mended its relations with Israel and trying to improve the situation with Egypt as well.
