Oil talks between the United States and Venezuela: looking for an alternative to Russia

Details of the US meeting with oil-rich Venezuela, as part of attempts to isolate Russia, have been leaked. During the meeting, the United States also tried to find out the attitude of Venezuela in the search for alternative oil resources in the event that an oil embargo was decided on Russia. It was stated that no agreement was reached in the negotiations.

The details of the US meeting on this issue with oil-rich Venezuela, Moscow’s closest ally in Latin America, have emerged.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro also attended the talks with the US delegation to Caracas. The talks discussed easing sanctions on Venezuela if it becomes involved in the anti-Russian front, but an agreement could not be reached due to the ‘maximalist demands’ of both sides, it said.
