Plastic waste travels from England to Adana in Turkey
Plastic waste dumped in the British capital, London, was monitored by GPS (satellite-based radioavigation system). The waste traveled from London to Adana, which is 3,200 kilometers away.
A correspondent for the US-based Bloomberg agency, reported on the journey of plastic waste thrown out of the British supermarket chain Tesco to Turkey.
The waste, which was monitored with GPS, appeared in an industrial area in Adana, 3,200 kilometers from London, within two months.
After London, the plastic reached Turkey by traveling through the Netherlands, Germany and Poland and arrived at an open storage area at the northeast point of the Hacı Sabancı Organized Industrial Zone in Adana.
