President Erdogan expresses contentment following critical summit in London
The foursome meeting participated by President Erdogan, French President Macron, German and British prime ministers was held at 10 Downing Street, in London. Following the meeting Erdogan commented, “It went real well”. The participants focused on regional developments in the region, Syria and Libya to be in the first place.
President Erdoğan is accompanied by his wife Emine Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu, National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, and Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak.
On the other German Chancellor Angela Merkel who participated in the summit as well said, “We had a good and useful conversation”.
Turkey has been spending much effort to explain to its allies that YPG (armed Kurdish group in Syria) is the same as PKK which is already declared a terror organisation by the western world and therefore the USA and other allies should not cooperate with YPG in Syria regardless for whatever purpose. The USA and some western countries such as France voice on the other hand that YPG has fought against ISIS under the command of allies and therefore it deserves support.
