President Erdogan will be exempt from election bans in elections to come

It has turned out that the president will be exempt from election bans based on proposal to “Amend the Law on the Election of Deputies” ( and some other laws) submitted to the parliament by AK Party and MHP. In case there is no change during the talks, President Erdogan, who is also the leader of the AKP, will be able to use state facilities during the election period.

Deputy election as well as the presidential election are scheduled to be held in 2023, despite expectations governing coalition could decide to have early elections due to economic difficulties prevailing in the country.
