Russia raises hands: “Withdraw your troops from the Middle East and Europe”

Moscow replied to the response from the United States regarding Russia’s proposals on security guarantees. In the letter, the Russian side stated that if Ukraine became a NATO member, there would be a threat to decimate Crimea by force, stressing “this would lead to a direct armed conflict between NATO and Russia”.

Russia had made the following statement regarding the issue.

“We note that the American side has not given a constructive response to the main elements of the draft agreement on security guarantees prepared by the Russian side with the United States.

These elements are; Refusal of further expansion of NATO, withdrawal of the ‘Bucharest formula enabling ‘Ukraine and Georgia to become NATO members, refusal to establish military bases on the territory of states that were previously located in the USSR and not members of the Alliance. These provisions are of fundamental importance for the Russian Federation.”
