The Russian newspaper Kommersant wrote that the transit of sanctioned products to Russia through Turkey had started to be blocked although the Turkish authorities had not provided info about this.

The Russian economic newspaper Kommersant published a news story drawing attention to the trade between Turkey and Russia. According to the newspaper’s report, based on managers of Russian logistics companies, Turkey has stopped the transit of sanctioned goods from its territory to Russia.

Kommersant wrote that the managers of the logistics companies in question reported that starting the first half of this week, the Turkish customs authorities had begun to prevent the shipment of products containing the customs codes of goods included in the European Union’s sanctions list to Russia and Belarus in concerned declarations.

The executives said, Turkish customs officials had referred to a government instruction to stop the transit, but there had been no official government announcement of any changes to Turkey’s transit policy for goods heading to Russia or Belarus,
