According to the news, Iran and Saudi Arabia, which will restore diplomatic relations, will reopen embassies mutually within two months.

Iranian state television announced that an agreement had been reached with Saudi Arabia to restart diplomatic relations and reopen embassies in the two countries after years of tension. It was stated in the news that the agreement had been reached during negotiations conducted in Beijing under the mediation of China.

In the first place, the Saudi state media did not pass on the news of the agreement with Iran, and the Chinese state media did not include such news.

However, Iranian news agencies published footage of the talks in Beijing. Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme Council of National Security, Musaid al-Aiban, Saudi National Security Adviser, and Wang Yi, China’s chief diplomat, were observed to be at the same table.

“After the implementation of the decision taken in Beijing, the foreign ministers of the two countries will meet as part of the preparation for appointing a mutual ambassador,” Iranian state television said.
