33 soldiers were killed in an airstrike on the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in Syria’s Idlib region. A security meeting was held in Ankara, chaired by President Erdogan, lasting nearly seven hours. The president announced that the attack would be retaliated by multiple folds. Russia announced this morning that it had not been involved in the attack.

Based on same news analysts commented  that “Turkey and Russia had come to the brink of a direct military conflict in Syria,”

It was emphasized in said piece of news that On Thursday, armed opposition forces in Syria had recaptured the city of Sarakib, at the intersection of two strategic routes in Idlib with the support of the Turkish military, highlighting the growing threat to the Russian military in Syria.

The “worst-case scenario” was drawn as follows: “Moscow fears things will get worse: if a Russian military plane is shot down over the conflict zone, Russia will have to respond to that in some way.”
