Turkey grants 90-day visa exemption to 5 more European countries for tourist travel

Foreign Ministry has announced that tourist travel visa exemption of 90 days has been granted to citizens of Croatia, Ireland, Malta, Portugal and Norway as of 2 March 2020. The Ministry had previously announced visa exemptions for Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom.

An official from the Ministry said Turkey aimed to increase the tourism potential and develop bilateral relations in other areas with said countries via introduced exemption.

The visa exemption will be provided to citizens of said countries who want to travel to Turkey for touristic purposes for 90 days, every 180 days in order to ensure integrity of a visa policy for the European Union (EU) and Schengen Area members.

The Ministry had already announced in a written statement on 20 February a visa exemption had been granted to citizens of Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom.
