SNOW FIGHT IN AGRI TURKEY(1)

In Ağrı, where winter is difficult, Provincial Special Administration teams are fighting snow with 2 meters in height at places on some village roads even in March, the first month of the spring season.

These teams continue their hard work in winter on the village roads that are closed to transportation due to snow storm that is effective in high-altitude areas on the last day of March.

“Snow tigers” as they are called, continue the anti-snow work with 81 work machines, 91 personnel and 8 mobile support teams on the 4 thousand 817 kilometer road network in the area, making intensive efforts to ensure that citizens are not victims.

The teams working hard to ensure that transportation does not stop on some village roads, where the snow thickness reaches 2 meters in places, are forced to reopen the road they opened on the same day due to snow storm.

31,000 km long roads covered in 5 months

These teams which fight with snow that exceeds human height from time to time, ensure that patients reach the hospital and students reach their schools, while also preventing transportation-related victimization. The teams covered more than 31 thousand kilometers in 5 months and opened the roads that would have others not allowed transportation.
