Starlink satellites will not be able to operate in Gaza without Israel’s approval
Israel has announced that the Starlink satellites owned by businessman Elon Musk cannot be operated in Gaza and Israel without the approval of the Israeli Ministry of Communications.
Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi announced that Elon Musk-owned Starlink satellites ‘including the Gaza strip’ had agreed not to activate without Israel’s approval.
Karhi made a statement on his Twitter account and said: “Elon Musk, I congratulate you on reaching an agreement in principle with the ministry of communications under my leadership. As a result of this important agreement, Starlink satellite units will be able to operate only with the approval of the Israeli Ministry of Communications, including in the Gaza Strip.”
