Suspicion of monkey pox in Istanbul
Two foreign nationals were quarantined in Istanbul Sultangazi on suspicion of monkey pox virus.
2 Foreign citizens who came to the pharmacy located on Habibler Street, showed the wounds on their hands and asked for medicine. The pharmacist informed the authorities, suspecting that the wounds could be caused by the ‘monkey pox virus’.
2 people bought creams and left the pharmacy. Police and paramedics stopped those people and their friends next to them on the street. 3 people were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
TEST RESULTS ARE EXPECTED
Those people with suspected monkey-pox disease were tested at the hospital, where they were taken. The cause of the injuries is being investigated. It is also focused on the possibility that the wounds may have been caused by ‘chickenpox’.
