Tour bus accident in Çanakkale… There are dead and injured

TOUR BUS ACCIDENT IN CANAKKALE

The tour bus overturned into the water channel when the driver lost control of steering wheel, in the Ezine district of Çanakkale. 54 people were injured while 1 person lost his life in the accident. It is reported that the investigation into the accident is ongoing.

The tour bus from Kocaeli to Çanakkale overturned into the water channel in the Ezine district of Çanakkale. The tour bus was under the direction of Özgür Ercan who lost control of the steering wheel while heading towards Çanakkale.

THERE WERE 55 PEOPLE ON THE BUS

The bus, went off the road, overturned into the water channel located on the side of the road. Upon notification, ambulance, gendarmerie and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. It was learned that 55 people, including 52 passengers and 3 crew, were in the vehicle in the accident.

A PASSENGER LOST HIS LIFE

After the accident a passenger in the vehicle, lost his life. 31 injured were taken to Ezine State Hospital, 8 injured to Ayvacik State Hospital, 4 injured to Bayramic State Hospital, 4 injured to ÇOMU Research Hospital, and 5 injured to Mehmet Akif Ersoy State Hospital.

THE INJURED ARE BEING TREATED

Çanakkale Governor Ilhami Aktaş also came to the region after the accident and made examinations at the scene. Stating that there were no seriously injured passengers, Governor Aktaş said, “A bus belonging to a tour company bringing tourists from Kocaeli to our city went off the road and lay on its side in our Ezine district in the morning. There are a total of 52 passengers and 3 crew on the bus. Unfortunately, one of our passengers lost his life in the accident. The injured citizens are being treated in the hospitals in Çanakkale and in the hospitals in the surrounding districts.”
