Travel: Passenger luggage will now be collected from homes
French start-up Alltheway has launched a new baggage service that allows travelers departing from Paris to check-in from their homes or city center hotels and have their luggage dropped off directly at their destination, using SITA technology.
Alltheway’s agents will pick up the luggage from the traveler’s hotel or home, weigh it before handing it over to the airline, and seal it. According to a report on media Alltheway integrates with the airline’s tracking systems using SITA Bag Journey and shares real-time tracking information with passengers both at the airport and outside the airport, allowing them to track their luggage.
Pick-up times can be scheduled
In addition, agents can also access details about customers’ flight check-in and departure times using SITA’s Flight Data Global. This allows them to plan pick-up times and ensure that the luggage reaches the airport on time.
The company’s founder and CEO, said Alltheway is responding to the increasing demand for airport baggage services from a range of travelers, including families and business travelers.
