Germany’s lifting of travel restrictions on Turkey’s tourism regions, which include Aydin, Antalya, Izmir and Muğla, has raised hopes in the Aegean region’s maritime tourism sector. Professionals say the sector which served only domestic tourists in June and July has raised hopes and increased expectations as Russia has begun scheduled flights and Germany’s travel warning is partially lifted.

The decision made by Germany which sent Turkey more than 5 million tourists last year has motivated the maritime tourism sector. Professionals believe other member countries of EU will follow Russia and Germany, soon.

Maritime tourism sector which made a contribution of approximately $ 7 billion to tourism revenues of Turkey last year, is ready to host guests from abroad the best way possible with its services such as blue voyage, diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing, underwater and above water sports activities etc.

Local businesses are reported to be ready to provide services in accordance with all measures, including hygiene and social distance. At a time when individual and isolated holidays are prominent due to the global outbreak of Covid-19, it is expected that Turkey’s maritime tourism will receive great attention from visitors.
