UNESCO adds new sites to the “World Heritage List”: Two cultural sites from Turkey included
The ancient city of Gordion in Ankara and the wooden-supported mosques of medieval Anatolia in Eskişehir, Afyon, Kastamonu, Konya, and Ankara are among the 42 new World Heritage sites announced this week.
The cultural organization of the United Nations, known as UNESCO, expanded its list of protected areas worldwide to over 1,100 locations following discussions held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
