UNESCO World Heritage site GOBEKLITEPE enjoys enormous attraction in 2019

GOBEKLITEPE in SANLIURFA has been Turkey’s rising star in tourism, recently. 12 thousand years old Unesco World Heritage site was visited by over 410 thousand people in 2019.

Göbeklitepe is the oldest known collection of cult structures in the world, located near the village of Örencik, approximately 22 km northeast of the city center of Şanlıurfa. The common feature of these structures is that 10-12 T-shaped obelisks are lined up in a round plan, with stone walls between them.
