US inflation data released: figures show 9-month low inflation

US inflation data which global markets had focused on, was released. Consumer prices in the US rose by 7.7 percent in October compared to the same period a year ago. According to the data, inflation, which slowed down more than expected in October, fell to a 9-month low.

In the US, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.4 percent monthly and 7.7 percent annually in October, recording a more than expected slowdown.

The US Department of Labor has released inflation data for October. Accordingly, the cost of living for American consumers increased by 0.4 percent in October compared to the previous month.

Market expectations were for the CPI to increase by 0.6 percent per month in this period. The CPI had also increased by 0.4 percent on a monthly basis in September. In the country, the CPI recorded a 7.7 percent increase year-on-year in October.
