USA issues security warning to its citizens in Turkey as protests begin against U.S. due to its support for Israel

The U.S. Embassy in Ankara released a “security alert” regarding this matter. The statement mentioned boycott calls against U.S. businesses and attacks on employees of some U.S. brands, stating that “peaceful protests can turn into violence.”

The statement continued with the following remarks:

“Due to the increasing anti-American activities, U.S. government personnel in Turkey are advised to minimize public activities and movements, not to wear clothing identifying them as Americans, and not to draw attention to their nationality. Additionally, travel to the U.S. Consulate Adana Consular District in the Southeast is discouraged. The U.S. Consulates in Adana and Izmir will be temporarily closed to visits.”
