FIKRET BILA TURKISH JOURNALIST

Journalist Fikret Bila has written an article about the management problems in Turkey, from the economy to foreign policy. Bila asks the question “Where have we come from Atatürk’s Turkey which did not cut off diplomacy with the occupying countries even during the War of Independence also forwarding the question “how will Turkey, excluded from the community of modern states, be effective in foreign policy”?

Here is a section from Bila’s article;

“Turkey is preparing to deport the ambassadors of the 10 most important, most powerful countries in the world by declaring them persona non grata, on the instructions of President Tayyip Erdogan.

The reason is that these ambassadors have made a joint statement asking Turkey to implement the decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Osman Kavala.

It is understood that the government is trying to create a “heroism” in foreign policy in order to drop the bad course of the economy from the agenda.

The government which has to increase prices of almost every product, especially food, fuel and electricity, every week due to high inflation and high exchange rates, will cling to the rhetoric of “external/foreign powers” to evade responsibility.

At a time when the election is approaching, he will take refuge under the pretext of “Foreign powers want to destroy Turkey, they want to lower our flag, silence our adhan (call to prayer)” and try to collect votes by saying “the flag will not come down, the adhan will not be silenced”.

With the image of ”The power that challenges the world and can expel the ambassadors of the largest states of the world”, he will try to protect his power through a heroism and ensure other problems (of the country) are forgotten (drop from the agenda).

Such a policy can only be explained by eclipse of reason”.
