President Erdogan says Turkey will start vaccination and gradually reduce restrictions

After a cabinet meeting today, President Erdogan has made the following statement:

“Thanks to the measures we have taken, we have managed to reduce the rate of increase of the epidemic. In parallel with the declining number of cases and severe patients, the burden of the health system has eased.

We must all strive together to preserve these gains. We are obliged to continue our lives with measures until we find a permanent solution to this problem. Turkey closely monitors all vaccine studies in the world. 3 million doses of the vaccine have now arrived in our country. We will gradually reduce the restrictions, of course.

He also mentioned that he expected vaccination to start on Thursday or Friday.
