Number of Homes Sold to Foreigners Decreased in October

TURKSTAT (Turkish Statistical Institute) has released the housing sales statistics for October 2023. According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), housing sales in October 2023 decreased by 8.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 93,761.

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 52.9% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, totaling 2,535. The share of housing sales to foreigners in total housing sales in October was 2.7%.

Antalya took the lead in housing sales to foreigners in October with 931 units. Istanbul followed with 758 units, and Mersin with 294 units.

In the January-October period, housing sales to foreigners decreased by 44.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 30,599.

In October, citizens of the Russian Federation purchased 713 homes in Turkey. Russian Federation citizens were followed by Iranians with 235 homes, Germans with 152 homes, and Ukrainians with 138 homes.

Housing sales to foreigners had previously recorded a 60.3% decrease in May, 69.6% in June, 28.9% in July, 42% in August, and 43.5% in September compared to the same periods of the previous year.
